Rumors also pointed to
the launch of three OnePlus smartphones this year. In the last week, though,
only two of them were Released-OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Apparently, the
persistent problems posed by the COVID-19 pandemic had delayed the development
of the third device – a mid-range smartphone called OnePlus Z. This particular
handset will finally be released, and it will be sooner than we would
anticipate as live shots of the alleged smartphone have emerged.
The people at Slash
Leaks have released the photos. We reveal the smartphone's widely awaited
display in all of its glory. Unlike other devices on the OnePlus 8 series, we
can tell that there are no rounded corners to this version. It is a flat panel,
rectangular smartphone with small bezels. It also counts to the selfie snapper
with a center-aligned punch-hole.
Unfortunately, no real
photos show the OnePlus Z backwards. During the past, however, some leaked
renders showed a triple camera setup. Such cameras are mounted inside a
rectangular array. We're going to have a 48MP key sensor and a glass finish,
according to rumors. Rumors also say that this beast is powered by a MediaTek
Dimensity 1000 SoC with 5 G connectivity. This is the breaking point for OnePlus
fans. Even though the newer MediaTek chips are more than capable, the company's
weak software reputation puts this handset's software support in doubt.
Last but not least, we
suggest that you take those pictures with a sprinkle of salt or two. Though it
matches well with previous reports, neither the original source nor Slash Leaks
could confirm whether this is, in fact, the OnePlus Z.
