PUBG Mobile UPDATE: New release date news ahead of Season 13 launch

PUBG Mobile update 0.18.0 is arriving this week on Android and iOS, with Tencent confirming the big changes planned before the launch of Season 13.

PUBG Mobile Season 13 launches later this month but Tencent is bringing some major improvements to the famous Battle Royale game before that happens. This week will see the release of a big new PUBG Mobile update which promises, among other changes, to revamp the Miramar map. And the good news is that in May, we know when all the new content will arrive on Android and iOS.

It should be noted that the exact release date for PUBG Mobile 0.18.0 will differ slightly depending on where you live in the world. For many gamers who log on after the patch goes live, Miramar 2.0 will be the most notable update. Tencent has announced that on Thursday, May 7, 2020, they plan to release PUBG Mobile update 0.18.0. And with this latest patch coming so close to the start of PUBG Season 13, a few leaks may be exchanged about what to expect later in May as well. Right now, most attention will be focused on what's happening on Android and iOS at PUBG Mobile this week.

PUBG Mobile 0.18.0 has been in beta testing for around a month and also contains the new Canted Sight attachment, which will make it easier to use two scopes. The WIN94 gun, meanwhile, comes with a default 2.7x scope, and appears to be a tool designed for Miramar 2.0. The updated map will be accompanied by new visual improvements, new map positions and the latest Golden Mirado. It's also predicted that the forthcoming PUBG Mobile update would have at least one new EvoGround mode.

During the beta testing process there were two separate versions available but it seems unlikely they would both drop at the same time. So, finding out what's intended for Protection Scramble Mode, and Jungle Adventure Mode, will be interesting.

Tencent also announced that new UI changes are being made to the results screen to make monitoring of the progress easier. Gamers can also expect a new social feature, called Cheer Park, to be made available this week.

As mentioned above, it is expected that PUBG Mobile Season 13 will launch later in May 2020, following the release of patch 0.18.0. This is supposed to include a new Royale Pass, but it is uncertain what else may be included. It's been only a few weeks since Tencent released a new Arctic Mode for gamers to explore, indicating that the development team may schedule their content through Season 13. Set on Vik.

Players need to work together to keep their body temperatures up, while their individual meters slowly drop, causing harm to them. Besides fighting the storms, players will have to fend off enemies, using their strategies to escape from battlefield. Apart from the new gameplay mode, snowboards from the Winter Festival game are now available for players to ride in the snow. Similarly, remote controlled drones were introduced allowing players to explore and monitor nearby areas for tactical advantages.

More news is expected in the coming days about the progress of the next PUBG Mobile Patch.
